PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating actuator which is embedded in an imaging lens of a camera to be used as a drive source of an AF mechanism. SOLUTION: The rotating actuator includes an annular or circular multi-pole magnet 1 in which a plurality of S-poles and N-poles are alternately arranged in the circumferential direction, and a coil body 2 which is located so as to be relatively movable in the circumferential direction of the multi-pole magnet. In the multi-pole magnet 1, the S-pole and the N-pole are alternately magnetized at a predetermined interval in the circumferential direction, and the coil body 2 is controlled so as to be applied with a predetermined current in a predetermined direction and at a predetermined timing. By a magnetic force generated between the multi-pole magnet 1 and the coil body by supplying electricity to the coil body 2, either the coil body 2 or the multi-pole magnet 1 is rotationally driven with respect to the other in the circumferential direction.
