PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically improve sequential access performance by performing dynamic relocation of data in a copy destination volume to maintain continuity of the data. SOLUTION: In this storage system, a copy control unit 24 copies before-update data of update target data in a first storage volume 13a storing data transmitted from an upper device 2 to a second storage volume 13b. The copy control unit 24 has: management tables 311-313 managing an update part in the first storage volume 13a and a storage part in the second storage volume 13b of the before-updata data; a confirmation unit 32 confirming that data of a prescribed range of the first storage volume 13a are copied to the second storage volume 13b based on the management tables 311-313; and a relocation processing unit 33 performing relocation processing of the data in the second storage volume 13b based on a confirmation result thereof.
