PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved system and method for processing transactions including media disks. SOLUTION: The system includes a dispense/receive system for dispensing the media disks to customers and receiving media disks from customers, a disk identification system for identifying the media disks, a disk transfer system for moving the media disks within a kiosk, a control system operably connected to the dispense/receive system and the disk transfer system, and a user interface system. The user interface includes a buy-back indicator which can be selectively activated by the customer. In response to activation of the buy-back indicator, the controller activates the dispense/receive system to receive a media disk for buy-back, activates the disk transfer system to move the media disk to the disk identification system, activates the disk identification system to identify the media disk, and determines a buy-back price for the media disk.
