<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of causing the degradation of trapping quality by setting a trap width larger than necessary because a trapping width for upward growth and a trapping width for downward growth cannot be changed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image forming method includes setting curve information corresponding to the curvature of a scanning line in forming an image, deforming a color region of a specific image by correcting a value of a target pixel based on image data in a reference window comprising the target pixel and peripheral pixels, and correcting the reference window used for such deformation, based on the curve information and a main scanning position of the pixels to be processed.
