Writing paper which exhibits excellent writing properties and erasing properties when a whiteboard marker pen is used and is not easily damaged, and a method for manufacturing the writing paper. The writing paper is provided with a first coating layer formed by coating one surface or both surfaces of the paper with a first overcoat agent, and a second coating layer formed by coating the first coating layer with a second overcoat agent, wherein the first and second overcoat agents are of an ultraviolet curable type, and the second coating layer is thicker than the first coating layer.
