<p>A brain wave interface, a device controlling method, and so forth all enabling maintenance of judgment accuracy by using electrodes in the device shape region without measuring the brain wave in the position Pz (the median head vertex) of the international 10-20 system. The device control method includes a step (a) of giving a visual stimulation about the device operation menu, a step (b) of measuring event-relevant potentials after the visual stimulation is given, specifically, measuring event-relevant potentials from the timing at which the visual stimulation is given from the potential difference between at least one reference electrode installed near an ear of the user and each of the electrodes installed on the face of the user, a step (c) of extracting brain wave data about brain waves having frequencies below 5 Hz in a predetermined time section from the measured event-relevant potentials and creating brain wave feature data by combining the extracted brain wave data, a step (d) of comparing the brain wave feature data with reference data for judging whether or not selection of the prepared device operation menu is required, and a step (e) of performing the operation corresponding to the device operation menu depending on the result of the comparison at step (d).</p> |
