<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil separator can certainly separate the oil. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The oil separator is provided with a separation tank 2 and a water feeding port 13, i.e., a water feeding part provided on the separation tank 2 and fed with water to be treated containing the oil and a water discharge port 14. Since a folding/returning flow passage 35 reaching from the other side opening part 33 to the lower opening 27 of a second partition plate 22 while passing through a space between lateral partition plates 31, 32 of upper and lower stages, one side opening part 34 and the lower side of the lateral partition plate 32 of lower stage is provided, water to be treated flowing from the water feeding port 13 to the water discharge port 14 passes through the lower opening 27 of the second vertical partition plate 22 in such a state that the contained oil is floated up and the oil is separated. Especially, the folding/returning flow passage 35 provided at a water feeding part side, i.e., the upstream of the lower opening 27 in the upper and lower stages makes a structure that the oil hardly passes through the lower opening 27, and the oil can be efficiently separated.
