<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drain simply residual cooling water inside an electrode, in maintenance for cleaning or exchanging the electrode or the like in an element analyzer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An upper electrode 3 of the element analyzer 100 can be separated into a body part 31 fixed to an analyzer body, and a separation part 32 mounted detachably on the body part 31, and an internal circulation passage S3 for circulating the cooling water inside is formed by the body part 31 and the separation part 32. The upper electrode 3 includes a cooling water introduction port P1 for introducing the cooling water into the internal circulation passage S3, a cooling water draw-out port P2 for drawing out the cooling water from the internal circulation passage S3, and an air introduction port P3 for introducing the air into the internal circulation passage S3 in order to drain the residual cooling water from the internal circulation passage S3 into the cooling water introduction port P1 or the cooling water draw-out port P2.
