The protection arrangement has a shaft cover, particularly a grid (2) for covering the shaft, a connecting part (5) and a support element (8) fastened to a shaft wall. The connecting part has a thrust bearing (6) for protecting the shaft cover and a restraint unit (7) for connecting the connecting part with the support element. The connecting part is connected with the support element by inserting the restraint unit in a shaft direction in a corresponding recess (10) in the support element in a resting manner. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting a protection arrangement for a shaft.
