METHOD OF CONTROLLING PEN-TYPE INJECTOR HAVING ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen-type injector for injection of a medicament from a medicament cartridge in the housing.

SOLUTION: The pen-type injector includes a drive mechanism 42 for selectively acting on a displaceable bung 48 to dispense the medicament from the medicament cartridge 40 and an electronic control unit for controlling operation of the drive mechanism 42 in which the drive mechanism 42 under the control of the electronic control unit initially acts at a first speed being slower than a second speed at the start of each new medicament cartridge 40 and acts at a second speed thereafter.
