PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment for certainly detecting with a simple constitution whether the portable electronic equipment is mounted on a vehicle, and for prohibiting the use of VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System) information when it is not mounted. SOLUTION: This portable electronic equipment detects with a switching means whether a rail member disposed in an equipment attaching device for attaching the portable electronic equipment is inserted into a rail guide groove into which the rail member is to be inserted.
