<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio device configured to prevent antenna output from being instantaneously dropped in transmission startup. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This radio device includes: a synthesizer part (1) generating a transmission signal; an amplifier part (2) amplifying the power of the transmission signal generated by the transmission signal generation part (1); an APC circuit (5) controlling the gain of the amplifier part (2) in accordance with the output level of the amplifier part (2); and a switch circuit (2) arranged between the synthesizer part (1) and the amplifier part (2); and is structured such that, after starting the operation of the APC circuit (5), the switch circuit (7) is turned on after a predetermined period elapses, and the transmission signal is input to the amplifier part (2).
