PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tyrosinase activity-inhibiting component and the like exhibiting high skin-beautifying effects by searching a substance exhibiting higher effects among tropolone compounds. SOLUTION: The tropolone compound has, in theγ-position, a substituent group forming at least one hydrogen bond or a hydrophobic bond with any one or more of asparagine (Asn364), alanine (Ala365) and isoleucine (Ile368) located in the neighborhood of the active center of human tyrosinase and exhibits human tyrosinase activity-inhibiting actions.
