PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a separate bending step and further prevent generation of a crack in a worked part. SOLUTION: First, a floating die 10 is held at the middle portion on a shaft raw material 8 and restricted not to move in directions other than a predetermined direction SD in the radial direction of the shaft raw material 8. Next, the shaft raw material 8 is swaged by applying a compression load to the shaft raw material 8 in the radial direction, and the floating die 10 is allowed to move in the predetermined direction SD to buckle the middle portion in the predetermined direction SD. Further, by regulating the movement of the floating die 10 in the axial direction and the predetermined direction SD by a guide block 4, the relation between compression and buckle of the shaft raw material 8 is regulated such that the buckle does not precede the compression.
