RELAY DEVICE, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND COMMUNICATION METHOD

Disclosed are: a plurality of relay devices that relay data during transmission and reception, wherein when data is exchanged between the relay devices, the time required for the exchange may be shortened and the uniformity of the data contained in each relay device may be guaranteed; a communication system containing the relay device; and a communication method. Relay devices (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) store data received from ECUs connected to each relay device in first receive buffers (37a, 37b, 37c, 37d). During a synchronization period, the relay devices (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d) mutually transmit and receive trunk frames that were received from the ECUs and contain property values. Data read from databases (31a, 31b, 31c, 31d) are transmitted to each ECU, but the databases (31a, 31b, 31c, 31d) are synchronized only after the relay device (3a) receives the final frame from the relay device (3d), which has received all of the trunk frames, and issues a COMMIT command.
