The machine (M) has a rotor (R) and a stator (S) that electromagnetically cooperate with each other. The stator has two sets of teeth (Z1, Z2) including different tooth widths (tau z1, tau z2), respectively. One of the tooth widths (tau z1) is less than the other tooth width (tau z2). Recesses (N) are formed between the teeth and have a constant recess width (tau n). The rotor has permanent magnets (P) for forming exciter poles with a preset pole width (PB). The magnets are provided at a distance (tau p) from each other, where the distance is less than the pole width.
