<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal control device and an image signal control method to achieve both stability and responsiveness when controlling display brightness. <P>SOLUTION: This image signal control device 1 is provided with: a brightness value calculation part 2; and an APL (average picture level) detection part 3 which detect the APL of an image signal for each frame. The image signal control device 1 is further provided with: an APL maintaining part 4 which controls the display brightness of the current frame using the APL of the past frame; APL memories 5(0)-5(-N+1); a difference calculation part 6; a comparison part 7; an APL addition part 8; an APL averaging part 9; LUT 11; and gain conversion parts 12a-12c. In the image signal control device 1, when the change quantity from the APL of the past frame to the APL of the current frame exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the APL of the past frame is replaced to the APL of the current frame, and the display brightness of the current frame is controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
