<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new potable reader over the conventional. <P>SOLUTION: The potable reader that reads a card, in which a set of contact regions are formed, from one side surface is equipped with a connector in which a set of contact pads are formed. This potable reader comprises first and second holding elements that hold the card so as to allow at least one contact pad of the set of contact pads to be connected to at least one contact region of the set of contact regions.
