<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a memory capacity and eliminate the necessity of a buffer in a correcting circuit in employing a pixel defect correcting method of an address storage system in an image sensor utilizing a pixel sharing technique. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Defective pixel information stored in a defective information storage memory includes a defective address 41, a shared flag 42 and sharing position information 43. The sharing position information 43 means a relative position of a predetermined shared pixel with another shared pixel. That means, the defective pixel information is stored in the defective information storage memory for each pixel sharing configuration if the defective pixel is the shared pixel. Otherwise, it is stored for each defective pixel. Accordingly, one piece of defective pixel information is used in the entire pixel sharing configuration (a plurality of shared pixels included therein).
