<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the system to manage information where both information managements on contents recorded and reproduced by users and those on contents distributed by contents providers are intended to be compatible. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The system includes a file structure to manage a first precision video information (HD_DVD-VR;HDVR_VOB/HDVR_SOB) the users can record and a second precision video information (HD_DVD-VIDEO;ADV_OBJ) the contents providers can provide, wherein a management area is configured so as to further include management information (VIDEO_PLAYLIST, VTSI) that manages the reproduction of digital stream signals including the second precision video information (HD_DVD-VIDEO).
