<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly durable inductor, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the inductor 30a, having a magnetic molding 31 obtained by performing compression molding to magnetic powder 22 containing a thermosetting resin and a powder-like magnetic material, and a coil 21 incorporated in the magnetic molding 31, the magnetic molding 31 includes a recess 35a formed along a center axis 21s of the coil 21. By providing the recess 35a along the center axis 21s, an internal stress by a restoring force of the coil 21 can be relaxed, thus preventing the cracks in the magnetic molding 31, thereby providing the highly durable inductor 30a.
