<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device reducing a size and weight of the lighting device and simplifying its structure, by eliminating a lift means of a lighting component from the lighting device and allowing remote control of operations of a detachable means of the lighting component, and to provide an external device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lighting device 1 includes a lighting device body 11 fixed on a ceiling of a structure, and a lighting component 2, provided removably to the lighting device body 11 with a detachable means, wherein a lift means 35 is provided at a place, other than the lighting device body 11 and the lighting component 2. An operation portion 32 and the lift means 35, for operating the detachable means, are provided in the external device 3, while being separated from the lighting device body 11.
