PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium alloy which can maintain excellent hardness over a long period without requiring great time and effort. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a titanium alloy having a composition comprising, by weight, 6 to 16% Cr, 4 to <12% Al and further comprising at least either≤6% Sn or≤12% Zr, and in which, provided that the weight% of Al is defined as X<SB>Al</SB>, that of Sn as X<SB>Sn</SB>and that of Zr as X<SB>Zr</SB>, the value of X<SB>Al</SB>+(X<SB>Sn</SB>/3)+(X<SB>Zr</SB>/6) is 6 to 12%, and the balance Ti with impurities.
