PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of preventing water from overflowing from the upper edge of a washing tub and also capable of specifying an abnormal part. SOLUTION: The controller of the washing machine is configured so as to determine overflow outlet clogging when a dangerous water level is detected during water pouring and rinsing without detecting the abnormality of a water level in a step before the water pouring and rinsing. Thus, the clogging of an overflow outlet or an overflow route which is the abnormal part is accurately identified, and by controlling operations in respective steps corresponding to the overflow outlet clogging by the controller, overflow from the upper edge of a water tub is surely prevented.
