The invention relates to a security element for securing data carriers having a three-layered thin-layer element (20) composed of a reflection layer (22), an absorber layer (26) and a dielectric spacer layer (24) arranged between the reflection layer and the absorber layer. According to the invention, the reflection layer (22), the absorber layer (26) and the dielectric spacer layer (24) are matched to one another such that the thin-layer element, when viewed from the absorber layer side (26) at all observation angles (28, 28') and in the entire visible spectral range, has a very low reflectance and appears to be black. |
