<p>A method is disclosed for management of animals which are allowed to move in an area (11) intended therefore, the area housing a feeding area (12), a milking station (13) accessible from the feeding area, and a resting area (14) accessible from the milking station. Each animal visiting the milking station is, according to the method, identified and it is checked whether the animal has an infection, particularly mastitis. Each animal which is checked and found not to have the infection is allowed to access the resting area subsequent to milking of the animal in the milking station, whereas each animal which is checked and found to have the infection is prevented from accessing the resting area during a period of time subsequent to the milking of the animal in the milking station. The period of time is determined to allow the teat canals of the animal to close to thereby avoid that the infection is passed from animal to animal in the resting area.</p> |
