<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that prevents the large temperature rise of the battery on the occurrence of external short circuit or large current discharge, and has high capacity. <P>SOLUTION: In the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, a positive electrode active material is a lithium containing complex oxide expressed by a general formula: Li<SB>x</SB>Ni<SB>y</SB>Co<SB>z</SB>M<SB>1-y-z</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(in the formula, M is at least one kind selected from a group composed of Mg, Ba, Al, Ti, Sr, Ca, V, Fe, Cu, Bi, Y, Zr, Mo, Tc, Ru, Ta, W, and Re, 0.9≤x≤1.2, 0.3≤y≤0.9, 0.05≤z≤0.5, and 0.01≤1-y-z≤0.3), support salt concentration B in a non-aqueous electrolyte is 0.6-1.6 mol/L, and the cross-sectional area A (mm<SP>2</SP>) of a negative electrode lead, the support salt concentration B (mol/L), and the outer size volume C (mm<SP>3</SP>) of the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery satisfy a relational formula: 11,000≤C×B/A≤56,000. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
