<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material which has a high charge current capacity and superior charge/discharge efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The positive electrode active material is made, by making a sulfate adhere on a composite oxide particle which is mainly composed of lithium nickelate. In a secondary battery that uses the positive electrode active material fabricated by such a method and containing carbonate ions whose content is made 0.15 wt.% or lower, gas generation in the battery can be suppressed. A heat treatment is carried out at a temperature of 150°C or higher and 1,200°C or lower. The sulfate to be used is ammonium sulfate, lithium sulfate or a mixed salt thereof. The sulfate of 0.01 pt.wt. or higher and 20 pts.wt. or lower with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the composite oxide particle is made to adhere and is heat treated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
