PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus which prevents leakage of confidential information when an occurring fault is analyzed. SOLUTION: When a packet acquisition application 305 is executed, a CPU 201 receives the packet of TCP/IP from a network 103, and extracts the port number of a UDP header or a TCP header (S3). When the port number is a value 21, the CPU 201 analyzes an FTP packet (S4), and analyzes whether or not the password of the FTP is included. When the port number is a value 110, the CPU 201 analyzes a POP packet (S5), and analyzes whether or not the password of the POP is included. When there exists no password as the result of analysis, the CPU 201 stores the packet data as it is (S9). On the other hand, when there exists the password, the CPU 201 deletes the password section by embedding the password section with the data of the value 0, and stores the packet data (S9).
