PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elongate a life of a secondary battery by maintaining a high output state for a long period time. SOLUTION: In this charge/discharge method of the secondary battery, the secondary battery 1 of an outer shape having facing surfaces is pressurized at the facing surfaces in a charge/discharge state and a pressurizing force is made weaker when not charged and discharged than at the charged/discharged state. The battery not pressurized when not charged and discharged has a higher voltage in the same charge/discharge current as compared with the battery held in a pressurized state and can make a higher output.
