PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support apparatus for avoiding a dangerous spot, capable of supporting the avoidance of dangerous spots even in the event of unforeseen circumstances. SOLUTION: This apparatus includes: a data storage section 15 in which map data and dangerous spot data are stored; a positioning section 12 for determining the current location; an input section 11 through which a destination is inputted, a dangerous factor determining section 13 for determining the presence or absence of danger of risk factors; a route determining section 31 for determining, in accordance with the presence or absence of risk factors determined, whether to use a normal route or an avoidance route; a normal route calculating section 51 for, when it is determined that the normal route is to be used, calculating, in accordance with the map data read out from the data storage section 15, a recommended route from the current location determined by the positioning section 12 to the destination inputted through the input section 11; and an avoidance route calculating section 52 for, when it is determined that the avoidance route is to be used, calculating, in accordance with the map data and dangerous spot data read out from the data storage section 15, a recommended route from the current location to the destination with avoidance of dangerous spots.
