<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely add an accurate position of a photographic place, and record the image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A CPU 2 responds to the condition, where a shutter button included in an operation unit 9 is depressed and makes a GPS unit 7 start the reception of positioning data. The CPU 2 waits for the GPS unit 7 to finish the reception of positioning data. If the GPS unit 7 finishes the reception of positioning data, the CPU 2 acquires the present time from a clock unit 8, and carries out positioning computation based on the received positioning data. If the CPU 2 finishes the positioning computation and acquires the present position, it instructs a recording medium control unit 4, to record the image data and the present position in a recording medium 5.
