<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a truing up mechanism of a transport medium capable of performing truing up of a medium without damaging the medium such as ripping and folding by configuring an arm for truing up to be divided. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The truing up mechanism includes a truing up arm 10 having a slide hole 10b for sliding in a prescribed direction and a friction body 12, an auxiliary arm 8 having a slide pin 8a that engages with the slide hole 10b of the truing up arm 10, and an arm driving means for driving the auxiliary arm 8 to reciprocate in the direction of truing up the transport medium 15. The auxiliary arm 8 is moved in the direction to true up the transport medium 15 by the arm driving means, the slide pin 8a of the moved auxiliary arm 8 is engaged in the slide hole 10b of the truing up arm 10, and the friction body 12 provided to the truing up arm 10 is moved in the truing up direction, and the transport medium 15 is trued up.
