The device has a bending vibration with a carrier tongue (1), and two electrodes (3,4), which are connected with a piezo-ceramic (2). A holder (5) is clamped an end of the carrier tongue. An impedance measuring device (6) is connected with the electrodes, and a direct voltage supply is connected with the electrodes. The carrier tongue is made of electrically conductive material. An independent claim is included for a method for measuring the viscosity and thickness of fluid.
