<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus assuring a power saving effect when a fault occurs in a printing engine section of the apparatus and printing can not be executed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a fault detection section for detecting the occurrence of a fault in printing execution; a determination section for determining whether or not to perform power-off operation of the apparatus based on a detection result of the fault occurrence by the fault detection section; an output section for outputting a fault content for the fault when the determination section has determined to perform the power-off operation of the apparatus; and a power source control section for performing the power-off operation when the determination section has determined to perform the power-off operation of the apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
