<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus by which enhancement of security protection related to use of a biometric authentication device is implemented. <P>SOLUTION: In the information processing apparatus, a password confirmation module 101, if a device-ID153 of a fingerprint authentication device 111 does not match a BIOS-ID151 owned by itself, does not approve authentication by the fingerprint authentication device 111, and performs authentication by input of a BIOS password 152. If the authentication is approved, the password confirmation module 101 again performs authentication by the fingerprint authentication device 111 (using fingerprint data 154), and if it is approved, supplies a device-ID as a value matching the BIOS-ID151 owned by itself to the fingerprint authentication device 111 so that the fingerprint authentication device 111 can authenticate from the next time onward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
