<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when a handy scanner to be auxiliarily used at a position separated from a vertical scanner is left behind on the luggage reception face of a checkout counter, a cable entangles around a merchandise basket or the like, and the operation is disturbed as a result, and the use range of the handy scanner is restricted although the problem is solved by shortening the cable. <P>SOLUTION: The cable 451 is configured so that a fixed edge 451b as one edge is fixed to a ceiling part 111a of a unit body 111, and extended toward a bottom part 111b, and wound around the lower half-cycle of a pulley 151, and extended toward a ceiling 111a, and a handy scanner 401 is connected to a free edge 451a as the other edge. An insertion part (cable insertion hole 112a) into which the cable 451 is inserted is formed so as to be opened at the ceiling part 111a of the unit body 111.
