<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide paint for protection of electrodes, used for forming a paint film for protection on electrodes of a fluorescent lamp, excellent in adhesion to the electrodes as well as mechanical strength, and providing the electrodes with sputtering resistance for a long period of time, and also to provide a paint film using the above paint. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The paint for protection of the electrodes contains metal oxide, an inorganic binder, and a solvent. The metal oxide is an inorganic compound containing a kind or two or more kinds of elements selected from a group of aluminum, zirconium, yttrium, and lanthanum.
