The pedestal (10a) has a retaining base device (12a) from which multiple tube-like base part arms (20a) of a base (11a) radially projects for turning a furniture (13a) on an underground. The base device has a column holder (15) holding a supporting column (14) for carrying a furniture body (16) of the furniture. A peripheral wall surrounds an inner cavity of the base part arms. The base part arms taper from the retaining base device to free ends. The base part arms are trapezoidal in cross section. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a pedestal.
