The method involves peeling birch barks from a tree and sorting the birch barks according to size. Outermost coating layer of the birch bark is removed. The largest birch bark is sorted and is cut to a uniform surface measure. The cut birch bark piece is partly moistened with a bonding agent. The moistened birch bark piece is laminated to a laminar body and is hardened under defined pressure. A plate, a profile and a body of an article are formed from the laminar body by mechanical treatment. An independent claim is also included for a handle comprising birch barks pieces.
