<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a middle coupling unit making an image forming device keep versatility, and coupling two image forming devices so as to be installed in a small office, and the image forming device applicable to the same. <P>SOLUTION: The middle coupling unit 1 includes a carry-in port 2 on a right side on a lower surface, a plurality of carrying roller pairs 3a, 3b-3g clipping and carrying a recording medium P carried inside, discharging ports 4a, 4b formed near right and left end portions on an upper surface and for discharging the recording medium P to the outside, a first flap 8a and a second flap 8b for switching carrying passages A, B, and C, a paper discharging tray 5 fixed on an inside upper side, and a paper feeding cassette 6 attached/detached to/from an inside lower side. When the two printers of the same shape are coupled in the same direction above/below the middle coupling unit 1, the two printers communicate through the carrying passage A to enable double-speed printing.
