<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device employing a driving system of a light emitting means, which shortens a backlight lighting period to improve the quality of a moving image and performs PWM driving for backlight light amount control to reduce power consumption in the lighting period and is capable of compensating for characteristic variations of the light emitting means by a PWM output signal. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes a means for setting a target value of light emission per cycle, a means for storing a cumulative value of the amount of light emitted from the light emitting means on the basis of the driving signal of the light emitting element, a means for calculating an error between the target value and the cumulative value, and a means for transmitting the error to the next light emission cycle, and is so configured that the light emitting element is periodically lit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
