<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eavesdropping device detector and a clock which are capable of detecting an eavesdropping device with an intermittent sound not to give a sense of incongruity to the environment. <P>SOLUTION: The eavesdropping device detector 100 includes a sound generating section for generating a specific sound, a microcomputer 105 for controlling the sound generating section so that the sound generating section can generate the specific sound intermittently and controlling the scanning rate of a scanning section 106 depending on the control status of the sound generating section, and the scanning section 106 for scanning the frequency of a radio signal.
