POWER CONVERTING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converting apparatus having a function of automatically adjusting the control response of a power converter upon execution of base power control and load-following control.

SOLUTION: The power converting apparatus includes the power converter 5 whose ac side is connected to a power system 2 and dc side is connected to a secondary battery 6, a power detecting means 13 which detects power from the ac side of the power converter 5, and a control means 20 which controls charge/discharge power from the power converter 5 detected by the power detecting means 13 so that the controlled power matches a power instruction value. The control means 20 has response characteristics changing means 211 and 212 which change the output response characteristics of the control means 20 in accordance with a variation of the power instruction value.
