<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-dimensional code for giving high visibility to a person to whom information is provided, and for satisfactorily reading information coded by a two-dimensional code reader. <P>SOLUTION: A data region obtained by performing mask processing to data by using a mask pattern is included in a matrix-shaped brightness/darkness pattern configured of dark section cells and bright section cells whose brightness is different from each other, and a color image obtained by coloring the dark section cells so that a plurality of small areas on the brightness/darkness pattern can be distinguishably painted in a plurality of types of colors is formed on the brightness/darkness pattern, and a plurality of data code brightness/darkness patterns formed by performing mask processing based on a plurality of types of mask patterns to the same data can be displayed in the data region.
