A light guide plate unit enabling realization of light distribution suitable for spatial illumination and having excellent maintainability is provided. The light guide plate unit comprises a light source unit (14) for forming a linear light source constituted by arranging point light sources approximately linearly and a light guide plate (16) having at least an entrance end surface through which light from the light source unit enters, an exit surface which is nearly orthogonal to the entrance end surface and from which the light which has entered through the entrance end surface exits, and a reflection surface which is disposed opposite to the emission surface and on which a light scattering pattern is formed. The light scattering pattern of the light guide plate is formed denser in a nearly central region of the emission surface than in a peripheral region of the emission surface.
