<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sterilization and cleaning equipment for a water closet, which sterilizes a toilet and sterilizes and cleans a water storage tank of the water closet, which prevents the outflow of acid water and alkaline water, produced by electrolysis in the supply and discharge of water, and the inflow of running water, and which can be easily assembled by being reduced in size. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This sterilization and cleaning equipment EQ produces the acid water and the alkaline water by a diaphragm cell electrolysis process incorporated in the water storage tank. The sterilization and cleaning equipment comprises: an electrolytic cell E in which an acid electrolytic cell E1 for producing the acid water from an electrolyte solution and an alkaline electrolytic cell E2 for producing the alkaline water are juxtaposed via a vertical bulkhead 32 like a plate, and which is composed of a bulkhead 2 provided at the lower end of the vertical bulkhead 32; an auxiliary cell A for temporarily storing a saturated electrolyte solution thereon; and a horizontal bulkhead 31 like a plate, which is provided between the electrolytic cell E and the auxiliary cell A. An acid water supply/discharge pipe is provided in the acid electrolytic cell E1; an alkaline water supply/discharge pipe 42 is provided in the alkaline electrolytic cell; and an acid water and alkaline water supply/discharge hole 4 communicating with the water storage tank is provided below them.
