<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel including a transmission which can prevent the inclination of a switch member on movement in the axial direction and can simultaneously compact the body of the reel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The fishing reel is fabricated by disposing stepped shoulder portions 28d in the fitting site of the switch member 28 fit to a handle shaft 24 and controlling the inclination of the switch member 28 on the movement in the axial direction through the shoulder portions 28d.
