<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fin tube type heat exchanger whose heat transfer performance is enhanced by providing a cutout in a heat-transfer fin, raising the windward side of the heat-transfer fin portion where gas in the cutout flows, and forming projecting portions each having an opening formed by the cutout on the leeward side. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The heat-transfer fin 10 includes a cutout 13 in a direction approximately perpendicular to the flow direction of an air stream 1. The windward side of the heat-transfer fin portion where the gas in the cutout 13 flows is raised. Projecting portions 15 each having an approximately triangular opening 14 formed by the cutout 13 are formed on the leeward side. The plurality of projecting portions 15 each having the opening 14 on the leeward side are provided on the surface of the heat-transfer fin 10 among fin collars 11 which are adjacent to one another in the direction of steps.
