<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relatively increase the amount of light transmitted by ensuring a relatively broad area in a light-transmitting region in a window member. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A light transmission window assembly includes: a tubular ceramic body having an opening at an end part; a tubular metal member which is joined to the end part of the ceramic body and forms a pipe conduit communicating with the opening; and a light-transmitting window member which joins to the inner peripheral face of the metal member and blocks the pipe conduit. On the inner peripheral face of the metal member, a curved part is provided which is curved so as to approach the center axis of the opening which is separated from the ceramic body. In the light-transmitting window member, a peripheral edge of one main face abuts against the inner peripheral face of the metal member, and a side face of the light-transmitting window member and the inner peripheral face of the metal member are jointed by a jointing member. The jointing member has a surface which expands in a direction of being separated from the ceramic body along the inner peripheral face of the metal member from the peripheral edge of the light-transmitting window member.
